From the Worshipful Master

December 2007

Brethren,

My Brothers, I would like to thank you all for the great support that you have shown me as your Master this year. It has been a pleasure to serve St John’s Lodge for a second time as your Master. This year has been most rewarding. I have watched many of our new brothers grow and learn. I have seen this wonderful building come from the (to quote a brother) “ a old smelly place” to one we can all be proud of. I have seen our two Lodges raise many new Master Masons and work together as brothers and friends. This is a dream come true. It is now time to pass on the leadership roll to a younger and very capable man. The Officers this year have all worked hard to not only learn their parts but worked on the things that will make them good leaders of this Lodge. I thank them all for their hard work!

My brethren the it was voted at Grand Lodge to raise the per capita, we are not to be upset as the cost of running our Temple is going down. The Association lowered our rent this year and may be able to again next year. The Association and the Lodge’s good investments are working for you and they will do all that they can to keep the costs for your dues down.

Brethren this month the Stated Meeting will be a little on the busy side but not a long meeting. Now, there will be a very special treat after the meeting that you will need to stick around for or you will miss something special I promise. This is our Annual Meeting. We will be electing our new officers for the next year and close and open a Lodge of Sorrows.

Enclosed is the copy of the report of the St John’s Masonic Association as required by the By-Laws and a list of the new board.

                                                     Fraternally,

                                                                                Bob Sutherland
