About St. John's and Its History
|
From the Worshipful Master August 2007
My brothers, July was great month for me, another year older and a great trip to Alaska (my first). We did two great degrees, an EA degree and a MM degree with St. Andrew's Lodge. We also continued planning for our 275th anniversary. I know we planned to have as few meetings as possible in the summer months, and we are, but the work keeps coming in, THANK GOODNESS.
This month is going to be a little on the easy side for you and the Master. We have a very special night for our veteran Masons. The Grand Master is coming to present 50 year and 60 year awards. We will also have 25 and 40-year pins to present. THIS IS SEMI PUBLIC SO BRING THE FAMILY. The officers and members will have their business meeting following the program of the evening to vote on new members. The Secretary’s report and Treasurer’s report will be read at the next meeting to keep the business short.
The Clam Bake and our visitation are planned for this month and the rest of the month is for you.
NOTE THE WORK DONE ON THE OLD GRILL ROOM and the soon to be called The Old English Café or Ye Old English Pub will be ready for our use. Tom Hand and his crew have done a great job.
I have been asked by some of the ladies if there was any interest in starting a Couples Club or Wives Club to meet the same evening as the men have supper with us (free) and gather for fellowship while we meet, and to plan fun functions for the group like dinner theater or bowling or other items. Let me know.
Fraternally, Bob Sutherland
