About St. John's and Its History
|
From the Worshipful Master January 2010
Brethren,
Thank you for electing me Worshipful Master for the second time! I consider it a great honor and important responsibility to serve in this position and I hope I can exemplify the important teachings of our fraternity. When I was Master in 2008 I set a goal for my year in the East to ensure that the lodge had an outward focus on the community. Throughout 2008 and 2009 we followed that goal and I believe we were successful. We have had many members organize events for the community including the Road Race, Little League Ice Cream Social, and Scholarships to name a few. These events definitely helped our community and raised awareness for our fraternity. In 2010, I would like to continue these community events but also shift the focus inward toward the members of the lodge. I want to make sure that our meetings are productive, fun, and contain good programs. I also want to follow the Grand Master’s goal for creating “Unity” among our fellow lodges by encouraging members to travel to other lodges as a group. This will give us more opportunities to have fellowship with other masons. Finally, I want to make sure that the members of our lodge are happy and enjoying our fraternity as we roll into 2011 for our 275th Anniversary.
Fraternally
