From the Worshipful Master

November 2008

Brethren,

I would like to thank all of you who attended our Veteran’s Award Program on October 8th. We had over forty people in attendance and the brethren showed great support for the Grand Master and the brothers who received special recognition for their years of service in Masonry. I would also like to congratulate the brethren who earned awards but were unable to attend the ceremony. You were certainly missed but we did read your name and service award in Lodge.

During the awards night we also presented Worshipful Brother Dan Stolworthy with the General Sullivan Award for his supreme commitment to Freemasonry and St. Johns Lodge. Dan has worked tirelessly over the last few years to help improve and grow the membership of the lodge, and promote Freemasonry. His efforts have been critical to the success we are enjoying today. Dan has also been producing, printing, and mailing the Trestle Board for the last few years and his commitment is demonstrated by the quality of the Trestle Board. Thank you very much Worshipful Brother Stolworthy!

My year in the East is rapidly winding down as we enter the last full month of my term. However, the activities of the lodge are not slowing down! Currently we have six candidates that we are working and we received two more petitions in October! Clearly, our lodge is attracting new members because we provide a fun, interesting, and rewarding fraternal experience. Please keep promoting our lodge and sending new candidates!

As the holidays approach I would like to wish everybody a Happy Thanksgiving. Also, I would to invite all brethren to our December Stated Meeting on December 3rd. We’ll hold our annual elections, conduct some business, and then following the meeting we’ll have a collation with a “special stew” created by our chef, and other snacks and food. I hope you can make it.

Fraternally

Tom Haslam
